Details: Short description 1815. Whaligoe, a small village in northern Scotland. Secretly and despite the ban, two teenagers kiss according to an old Gaelic ritual at the Craighorns, a sacred place. They want to solidify their mutual connection for eternity. Twelve years later, the writer Lord Douglas Dogson makes a coincidental stop in Whaligoe on his way north. He is accompanied by his muse and mistress Speranza, and is looking for new inspiration. One night, he looks out of his hotel room at the cemetery and sees the ghost of a young girl lying on a grave. About the author and other contributors Yann Lepennetier (born 1954) was born in Marseille and is considered one of the most prolific screenwriters of our time. Together with Didier Conrad, he created the series "Helden ohne Skrupel" (Heroes without Scruples) for the magazine "Spirou" in 1980. Also for "Spirou", he wrote several "Oncle Paul" stories, which were drawn by Conrad, Will, Bercovici or Dany. In 1984, the Bob Morane parody "Bob Marone" followed. In parallel, Yann, under the pseudonym Balac, wrote the first scripts for the "Sambre" series in 1986, which stood out from many other narratives not only for Yslaire's drawings and coloring. In 1988, Yann continued series he had not conceived himself for the first time: for example, "Theodor Pussel", drawn by Frank LeGall. The series for which Yann has written are too numerous to list here, so only a rough list of his albums published in Germany is provided: "Freddy Lombard" (with the artist Yves Chaland), "Marsupilami" (with Bâtem), "Lolo & Sucette" (with Marc Hardy), "Die weiße Nacht" (The White Night, with Olivier Neuray), "Leonid & Sputnika" (with Philippe Bercovici), "Nelly Nikotin" (with Denis Bodart), "Tako" (with Marc Michetz), "Im Jenseits ist die Hölle los" (Hell's Breaking Loose in the Afterlife, with Marc Hardy), "Die drei weißen Haare" (The Three White Hairs, with René Hausman), "Pin-Up" (with Philippe Berthet), "Odilon Verjus" (with Laurent Verron), "Colt Walker" (with Fabrice Lamy), "Spoon & White" (with Simon Léturgie), "Die Ewigen" (The Eternals, with Félix Meynet) as well as "Das Geschlecht derer von Porphyre" (The Porphyry Dynasty, with Joel Parnotte), which he again signed with Balac. In addition to absolute classics like "Lucky Luke" (with Morris) and "Spirou and Fantasio" (with Fabrice Tarrin and Olivier Schwartz), Yann also continued bestsellers like "XIII Mystery" (with Eric Henninot) and "Die Welten von Thorgal" (The Worlds of Thorgal, with Roman Surzhenko). This was followed by "Mezek" (with André Juillard), "Gastoon" (with Simon Léturgie), "Der Pilot mit dem Edelweiß" (The Pilot with the Edelweiss, with Romain Hugault) and "Gringos Locos" (with Olivier Schwartz), before the two-volume series "Whaligoe" was finally created in 2013 with the artist Virginie Augustin, which is published in Germany by Piredda Verlag. Virginie Augustin (born 1973), born in Chatou, west of Paris, initially worked in Disney animation studios on Hercules and Tarzan, among others, followed by W.i.t.c.h. and Dragon Hunters for France 3, as well as on the animation of Corto Maltese. In 2004, she accepted the offer from screenwriter Wilfrid Lupano to draw the comic series "Alim der Gerber" (Alim the Tanner). After collaborating on various collective albums with other artists, including "Sur les traces de Luuna" (In the Footsteps of Luuna) published in 2008, she drew "Das Schattenreich von Troy" (The Shadow Kingdom of Troy) in 2011, based on a scenario by Scotch Arleston. Together with the screenwriter Yann, the two-volume story "Whaligoe" was created in 2013, the German version of which is published by Piredda Verlag.
