About the Author and Other Contributors Exiled to the kingdom of Belgium, Julie Birmant became a director at Insas, a prestigious film school in Brussels. She took the opportunity to make popular science documentaries for RTBF and co-direct several issues of the journal "Alternatives théâtrales", well known to enthusiasts. Back in France after a stint in Japan, she freelanced for France Culture (theater columns for Lucien Attoun, reports in "Carnet nomade"), became a dramatist, wrote for several theater festivals (including "Passages", in Nancy, and "Paris quartier d'été"), and finally, produced creative documentaries for France Culture (in "Surpris par la nuit", by Alain Veinstein). Illustrated by Catherine Meurisse, her first comic book script, "Drôles de femmes" (Dargaud, 2010), is a collection of portraits of famous women, including Yolande Moreau, Anémone, Amélie Nothomb or Dominique. With "Pablo (Dargaud, four volumes published between 2012 and 2014), which traces Picasso's youth, she collaborates with Clément Oubrerie for the first time. The duo reunites with "The Adventures of Isadora Duncan" (Dargaud, 2015), a diptych recounting the tragic life of the famous American dancer. In 2018, still with Clément Oubrerie, an adventure series is released: "Renée Stone" (Dargaud) whose heroine will embark on a quest for the origins of our civilization that will take her to the borders of Iraq. Clément Oubrerie is a French illustrator born in Paris in 1966. He studied graphic arts at the École supérieure d'arts graphiques Penninghen (ÉSAG), then spent two years in the United States, where he published his first children's books. Back in France, he then signed about forty illustrated albums and notably won the Montreuil press book prize in 2003 for "Les Mille Mots de l'info" (Gallimard), written by Élisabeth Combres and Florence Thinard. In 2005, he created with Marguerite Abouet the successful series "Aya de Yopougon" (Gallimard), before bringing it to the cinema in an animated film released in 2012. He is also the co-author of "Jeangot" (Gallimard), with Joann Sfar, of "Mâle Occidental Contemporain" (Delcourt), with François Bégaudeau and, in collaboration with Stéphane Melchior, of "Les Royaumes du Nord" (Gallimard), based on Philip Pullman. In 2008, he adapted "Zazie dans le métro" (Gallimard), by Raymond Queneau. At the same time, he turned to animation. In 2007, he directed "Moot-Moot", with Éric and Ramzy, a series that received the award for best animated series at the Annecy festival in 2008. Still in 2007, he created an animation studio with Joann Sfar and Antoine Delesvaux, Autochenille Production. This studio is behind two feature films: "Le Chat du rabbin" (2011) and "Aya de Yopougon" (2013). In 2011, he began a new series entitled "Pablo" (Dargaud), with Julie Birmant on the script.
