Details: Short Description 1920. American Midwest. The Orphan Train continues its journey west. On the train is Jim, who has just been separated from his brother. All he has left are his little sister Anna, a handwritten message from his father, and his new friend Harvey. 70 years later, he searches the archives of the Orphan Train Society for his past. Volume 2 concludes the first cycle of the series. About the Author and Other Contributors Philippe Charlot (b. 1960), a Frenchman, is a professional musician (guitar, vocals) and a founding member of the trio La Fabrique à Swing, which is dedicated to European swing of the 1930s and 40s. He wrote his first comic texts in 2009 for volumes 4 and 5 of the series Game Over, drawn by Adam and Midam, and for the stories in A vous Cognacq-Jay: Les grandes heures de la télévision en BD, created by various authors. In 2011, he combined his two passions (music and writing) with the artist Alexis Chabert in the two albums of the Bourbon Street series. The one-shot Harmonijka (2012), drawn by Miras, also has a musical background, telling the story of harmonica player Greg Zlap, who accompanied Johnny Hallyday on his tour in 1966. In 2012, Charlot also launched two new series: Karma Salsa with scriptwriter Joël Callède and artist Frédéric Campoy, and the two-part Orphan Train, published by Piredda Verlag, with The Legend of the Changeling artist Xavier Fourquemin.Xavier Fourquemin (b. 1970) was born in France but moved to Belgium in 1991, where he enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tournai. There he attended Antonio Cossu's classes and graduated four years later. In February 1996, his first comic story was published: "L'immonde Bête" was four pages long and appeared in the magazine "Gotham". Afterwards, he worked with scriptwriter Dieter on the series Alban (1997) and Outlaw (2001). In 2007, he created Miss Endicott (scripts: Jean-Christophe Derrien) before starting The Legend of the Changeling in 2008. This series, written by Pierre Dubois, revolves around little Peter, called Scrubby, who moves between two worlds: on the one hand, the real streets of late 19th-century London, where he is forced to move with his family, and on the other hand, the fantastic universe of fairies, where countless gnomes, nymphs, goblins, hobgoblins, trolls and many others abound. Finally, in 2012, he launched the Orphan Train series with scriptwriter Philippe Charlot, which is about the reunion of two orphans who meet again after a long time and come to terms with their past.
