Details: On the 115th anniversary of the death of the Dalton brothers, the end of this Lucky Luke adventure can be revealed from the outset. The final image does not show the victorious lonesome cowboy riding into the sunset, as expected, but rather the graves of the Dalton brothers with the laconic inscription "Here lie the Dalton brothers. They died in their boots on October 5, 1892". But anyone who looks more closely at the small grave markers will be puzzled by the first names immortalized there: Bob, Grat, Bill, and Emmett. Weren't the Daltons called Joe, William, Jack, and Averell? 55 years ago, Morris, the creator of Lucky Luke, invented the feared Dalton brothers. As often in his stories, they had a real historical background. The gang really existed, and apart from Emmett Dalton, who even left behind his memoirs after his death in 1937, his gang members lost their lives in a hail of bullets. In the Lucky Luke adventure "The Outlaws", Morris describes the Daltons as they really were. Ruthless and malicious. Tough nuts to crack, even for the great Western hero Lucky Luke. However, fans already liked the quartet, which appeared in pipe-organ format back then, and bombarded Morris with requests for sequels. But how could that be, they were now "where they had sent many of their victims for many years". This Gordian knot was later untied by René Goscinny (exactly 50 years ago) with the invention of the cousins Joe, William, Jack, and Averell. The Daltons, whom we have known and "loved" since their first appearance in volume 21 "Nepotism". With the adventure "The Outlaws", we were able to unearth another small treasure from the early days of the grand master Morris, which until now had only been reserved for a small circle of collectors. Bonus Track: The volume also contains the 10-page story "The Return of the Dalton Brothers". Here, Morris briefly brings the four villains back to life. However, Lucky Luke and his friends Smiley, Beerfly, and Microbe slip into the roles of the pipe organs to chase away a rotten sheriff.
