Details: Short description Inspired by the character of the Dutch private detective Dick Bos, a comic series – created by the artist Alfred Mazure (1914-1974) – which was very popular in Holland from the 1940s to the 1960s, Nicolas Mahler has created a kind of "short crime story" in 16 pictures. These 16 drawings were passed on to 12 authors, who could arrange them as they wished and provided them with text. With their own literary approach, the authors met the challenge of the comic genre: the result is 12 exceedingly original stories, as different as they could be: from a love drama to a writer with writer's block, from a postman who dreams of a chief inspector career to a brief outline of dying and what that's like. About the author and other contributors NICOLAS MAHLER *1969 in Vienna. Author and illustrator of over 30 books, most of which have been published in France, Canada and the USA. His drawings appear in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, Titanic, NZZ am Sonntag and the monthly magazine of the Italian daily newspaper La Repubblica, among others. www.mahlermuseum.at Published by Luftschacht: Perpetuum, 2008; Längen und Kürzen, 2009
