About the Author and other Contributors Erik grew up in Saarland near the German-French border and studied graphic design in Saarbrücken. In addition to Deae ex machina, his morbidly humorous series Dédé, of which four volumes are available, is published. Dédé was awarded the Icom Independent Comic Prize for outstanding artwork in 2011 and was nominated for the Max & Moritz Audience Award in 2012. Erik is currently working on the final volume of Deae ex machina.
