The latter is once again struggling with his weight, goes fishing, crosses the desert, communicates with the postman, plays football, cleans house, tests his hammock, and gets into several scuffles with Paustian, the neighbor's cat.

About the author and other contributors

Dupa (i.e. Luc Dupanloup, 1945-2000) began his career as an artist, working as an assistant to Greg, the then editor-in-chief of "Tintin" magazine, and initially contributed to the creation of several series, including Achille Talon (German title Albert Enzian at Ehapa and Carlsen). In 1968, Greg commissioned him to create a new gag character that was urgently needed for "Tintin." Dupa then drew a large, hairy ball with paws and gave it a good-natured appearance. Just fifteen minutes later, the first sketch was finished! But what should this new creature be called? The name of a bone wouldn't be bad, since it apparently was a dog. So Dupa consulted a reference book and took the name Cubitus (i.e., the ulna) from an anatomical drawing... Between 1968 and 1970, Dupa also created several short stories about the little country boy Petit Biniou in the style of Greg. And from 1971 to 1976, he also took over the series Chlorophylle, created by Raymond Macherot, with scenarios by Greg and Bob de Groot. In addition, Dupa created the red-haired truck driver Niky in 1980 (German title in "Yps"). However, Cubitus proved to be his greatest success, first appearing on this side of the Rhine in the "Felix" comics (under the name "Hannibal") and then establishing itself in "ZACK" magazine from 1973 onwards, where it later even became the editorial mascot. In Germany, 14 Cubitus albums were published by Carlsen Comics, as well as two volumes by Phoenix Verlag. In 1988, over 100 animated cartoon episodes were produced for television and broadcast in Germany on SuperRTL. At the end of October 2000, Dupa suffered a stroke and eventually died shortly thereafter at the age of only 55 in a hospital near Brussels.

EAN: 9783941279070

Languages: German

Binding: Paperback

Item Condition: New
