(Die Furche Booklet)\n\nAbout the author and additional contributors\n\nJens Thiele, born in Potsdam in 1944, studied Free Graphics and Art Pedagogy at the Braunschweig Art Academy and Art History in Göttingen, where he earned his doctorate. He worked, among others, at the Bergische Universität in Wuppertal before becoming a professor for Visual Media at the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg and director of the research center for children's and youth literature there. In numerous reviews, he advocated for artistically significant picture books. Since 2009, he has been working as a freelance artist in his studio in Münster.
