But somewhere in the countryside their car breaks down and they have to continue on foot. So the two come to a dilapidated ruin where they settle in for the night. The next day they explore the area and discover a hermetically sealed site where a scientist and other people are milling about, behaving very strangely. And when Cubitus finds a colorful helmet and puts it on, he is no longer himself. About the author and other contributors Dupa (i.e. Luc Dupanloup, 1945-2000) began his career as a cartoonist as an assistant to Greg, then editor-in-chief of "Tintin" magazine, and initially worked on the realization of several series, including Achille Talon (German: Albert Enzian at Ehapa and Carlsen). In 1968, Greg commissioned him to create a new gag character, which was urgently needed for "Tintin". Dupa then drew a large, hairy ball with paws and gave it a good-natured appearance. Just fifteen minutes later, the first sketch was ready! But what should this new creature be called? The name of a bone wouldn't be bad, since it seemed to be a dog. So Dupa consulted a reference book and took the name Cubitus (i.e. the ulna) from an anatomical drawing... Between 1968 and 1970, Dupa also created some short stories of the little country boy Petit Biniou in the style of Greg. And from 1971 to 1976, he also took over the Chlorophylle series created by Raymond Macherot, with the scenarios coming from Greg and Bob de Groot. In addition, Dupa created the red-haired truck driver Niky in 1980 (German: in "Yps"). However, Cubitus proved to be his greatest success, appearing on this side of the Rhine first in the "Felix" issues (under the name "Hannibal") and then establishing himself in "ZACK" magazine from 1973, where he later even became the editorial mascot. In Germany, 14 Cubitus albums were published by Carlsen Comics and two volumes by Phoenix Verlag. In 1988, over 100 animated cartoon episodes were animated for television and broadcast in Germany on SuperRTL. At the end of October 2000, Dupa suffered a stroke and finally died shortly thereafter at the age of only 55 in a hospital near Brussels.

EAN: 9783941279681

Languages: German

Binding: Paperback

Item Condition: New
